Profile
I lead the IPS research group at the Department of Spatial Planning and the international Master´s program SPRING. I received my PhD for my thesis “City in Flow: sanitation of Hanoi in light of social and spatial transformations (in German)” from TU Darmstadt in 2013. I have worked as a Junior Research Group leader at Kassel University in the project “Dis-ordering African cities urban planning, housing and infrastructures in Dakar and Nairobi” and as an Assistant Professor at the chair of Human Geography and Spatial Planning at Utrecht University.
My research is on manifold dynamics of city-making with a focus on heterogeneous infrastructure, planning and housing in cities of the global South.
