Dissertations

Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Sophie Schramm, our research group provides the opportunity for dissertations as part of larger research projects and as single PhD projects. Ranging from critical and postcolonial perspectives to applied approaches, we are particularly interested in research located in dynamic non-European cities. Thematically, we focus on:

• Urban change, planning and governance;
• Infrastructure and housing; and
• Migration and mobilities.

IPS has only limited capacities to fund single PhD projects. Please refer to the news section for open positions and inform yourself about external funding options (e.g. DAAD) before approaching us.
