Our PhD projects – supervised by Prof. Dr. Sophie Schramm – are conducted by German and international young researchers that bring together diverse perspectives on urban change and planning from across the world.
Our current PhD projects are:
- Girma Mulu Alemu: Contentious Peri-Urbanization: Exploring the Social and Economic Effects on Smallholder Farmers.
- Jackline Kabahinda: Understanding land ownership considering the economic, social, and cultural situation of women in Uganda.
- Moritz Kasper: Water tanks, jerry cans, power banks: Artefacts and practices of storage as part of heterogeneous infrastructure configurations in Nairobi.
