An online symposium on "Flow/ Overflow/ Shortage: measuring and managing extreme urban conditions" will take place on 24 and 25 May 2023 from 13:00 to 17:30 CET. The event is organised by Moritz Kasper with international coleagues

Presenters from multiple continents and disciplines will share and discuss their insights on extreme urban-infrastructural conditions of overflow and shortage; from electricity shortages and load shedding in African cities to contested water flows in the UK, from extreme urban heat events to supply chain crises, and much more. Keynote lectures will be given by Sylvy Jaglin (Université Gustave Eiffel) and Rashmi Sadana (George Mason University). The field of IPS will also be represented at the symposium. Francis Dakayaga will present his joint research with Sophie Schramm on "caring, repairs and pricing practices of the non-networked water supply infrastructure in Dar es Salaam".

All scholars and enthusiast of urban infrastructures and spatialities are invited to join us and listen in. Further information on the programme can be found here. Click here to register for the online symposium.
