The Research group of International Planning Studies (IPS) of the Department of Spatial Planning at TU Dortmund University is seeking to fill a temporary position as a research associate for a period of three years starting September 1, 2025. The duration of the contract will be appropriate to the qualification objective (doctorate). Remuneration is paid in accordance with the collective bargaining regulations according to pay group 13 TV-L. This is a part-time position (50%).

THE RESEARCH GROUP

Teaching and research at IPS focus on:

• Urban transformation, planning, and governance
• Infrastructure and housing
• Migration and mobility

YOUR TASKS
• Participation in the preparation of new research proposals
• Collaboration on research projects and publications
• Involvement in teaching at the department (2 SWS)

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
• A completed academic university degree in urban or infrastructure planning, planning or infrastructure studies, or a related discipline
• In-depth knowledge in one of the following fields: urban and infra-structure development in rapidly growing cities, postcolonial urban and infrastructure studies, spatial planning in cities of the Global South, more-than-human actors in cities
• Excellent English skills
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
