Research focus
IPS contributes to current debates of urban and regional planning studies with multidisciplinary and comparative approaches. Our research topics include:
- Urban change, planning and governance – we study urban change through diverse practices of city-making by human and non-human actors, place-specific planning systems, and globally travelling planning models and ideals.
- Infrastructures and housing – we study infrastructures and how they mediate global, regional or urban flows of energy and resources; as well as housing policies, programs and practices.
- Migration and mobilities – we study urban mobilities, displacement, and transnational movements of migrants, the ways they shape cities, and possibilities of participation.
